Doula. Community. Together.
The founding of our doula collective stems from a feeling many of us know: being a doula can be lonely, and we want to see change in the birth and postpartum community.

Most doulas work independently. We meet families, hold space, attend births, offer postpartum care – and then quietly go home, often without a team to lean on. The emotional and physical energy this work requires is immense – and carrying it alone can be heavy.
Truly finding community in birth work is not easy. Many of us have worked in isolation, not knowing who to turn to for advice or support. But when doulas come together – when we can text each other after a tough shift, when we need backup because we’re double-booked, or when we debrief after a long birth – everything changes. We feel more capable. We remember we’re not alone.
That’s exactly why we created this collective. We believe: doulas deserve care too.
This work is sacred, but it’s also work.Emotional work. Physical work. Often unpaid or underpaid work.Supporting others through their most intense moments – birth, loss, new life – is no small task.It demands deep presence, deep calm, and deep support.
When we support each other, we can better support our clients. When we feel held, we can hold space with more stability. When we are seen, we remember our worth and our strength.
This space, this collective, is more than just a shared name. It’s a home for us.A place to grow, to rest, to ask questions without judgment, to have each other’s backs – and to remind ourselves:
Doulas need to stick together.
Thank you for being part of our first steps.
With love,
The Doula Kollektiv Team
