We are committed to connecting, empowering, and supporting doulas in the DACH region (Germany, Austria, and Switzerland). Together, we want to highlight the importance of midwifery for society, raise awareness, and ensure access to doula services for all women. Through training, exchange, and collaboration with other organizations and public institutions, we contribute to a more respectful and safe birth experience and support in the future.

Stronger together | DA-CH Association for Doulas,
Doula associations and doula training

Who we are

An association consisting of a core team from Germany, Austria, and Switzerland that is constantly growing. We have been working as doulas ourselves for many years, train doulas, and want one thing above all: to lift the doula profession out of the eternal "plus one" debate and finally establish doula work as just as essential to the system as midwifery support.

Who we are not

Another association that is only accessible to a certain group of doulas—namely, those who have completed the same training. This creates a monoculture and promotes exclusion rather than inclusion. We believe that this is not helping the cause, but rather harming it!

What we want

We want to not only raise the visibility of doula work, but also bring our movement together under one roof. We believe that obstetrics is facing so many challenges that we must stand together to make a difference!

What we don't want

We don't want to wait for things to change; we want to be on the front lines – and that's why we need you! Because what we can't do alone, we can do together. However, to be truly heard at the political level, we need many of us! Training-only associations divide the movement rather than unite it!

What we stand for!

Obstetrics at eye level

We demand obstetric care that prioritizes only one person: the woman giving birth herself! This begins with us stopping acting and making decisions over the heads of pregnant women and starting to listen to them and respect their decisions!
