About Us

Our history and vision

We are seven doulas from Germany, Austria, and Switzerland who have been working as doulas for many years and earn their living through doula work. Some have founded their own businesses and lead doula training programs. In our daily work and in constant exchange with colleagues, it has not escaped us how difficult everyday life as a doula still is, despite the entire boom. We are still fighting for natural acceptance in hospitals as a second support person; we still have to justify ourselves when it comes to the distinction from the midwifery profession; we still don't have our own professional advocacy group.

Our story

After all, it all began with friendships and shared projects that developed into professional foundations. And the realization that we all share the same goal: to raise the profile of doulas and establish doula work as a recognized profession, helping to rescue obstetric care from its crisis!
